The Oregon Bankers Association (OBA) Education Foundation (“Foundation”), which supports programs aimed at increasing the financial literacy of Oregonians and the development and recruitment of future Oregon bankers, has announced its support of FinAbility through a $5,000 sponsorship. FinAbility, a Portland-based nonprofit, was established in 2020 to financially empower survivors of domestic abuse by providing trauma-informed, accessible programs that enable survivors to build financial security, the key to breaking free from abuse and thriving. The Foundation’s support will enable FinAbility to expand its digital programming and outreach, helping the nonprofit financially empower 30,000 survivors by the end of 2023. "We are ecstatic to call the OBA Education Foundation a partner organization,” said FinAbility CEO and Co-Founder Stacy Swain. “Through our shared focus on increasing financial literacy in Oregon and combined efforts, we will be able to empower thousands of survivors of domestic abuse to build the financial security needed to break free from abuse and thrive. We thank them for their hands-on support and belief in our mission and survivors." "We are excited to join forces with FinAbility to promote the financial empowerment of domestic abuse survivors," said OBA President and CEO Linda Navarro. "Our commitment to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills needed for financial success aligns perfectly with FinAbility's mission. Together, we can make a significant impact on the financial well-being of survivors."
